Me

Hey there, I'm Maria! I was born and raised in the suburbs of Philly, but I've always sought out travel opportunities to experience different perspectives. I think I can thank my Greek family for that. In fact, my first language is Greek, and I'm lucky enough to travel there quite often.

 

It has been through these travel experiences that I've picked up a yearning for something beyond the traditional desk job. I am currently the assistant buyer for accessories at Free People where I have the opportunity to develop products from conception to production.

 

Everyday at work, I am constantly reminded that this career is the right path for me. Being surrounded by such creative and passionate people I am encouraged to become a forward thinker.

My passions go beyond work as well. I started a weekend flower business during quarantine called BloomsByMar where I sell bouquets and donate the rest to nursing homes.

 

My dream is to one day become a buyer and truly be able to influence the fashion world. With retail at a current standstill - I want to still be able to find my role in this rapidly changing industry.
